Ledger board straddling gas pipe and cable
I’m planning to construct a ceiling in the garage. I’ll be attaching a ledger plate with concrete screws or resin bolts to use joist hangers. The board has to “straddle” the gas pipe and electrical cable/conduit. It will be where the red line is marked in the photo. Can I notch the timber in 2 places around them so it’s one continuous length or can it be constructed in 3 separate sections? Planning to use 45 x 120mm timber but will need to notch out 35mm so doesn’t leave much meat if it has...
