Potential trip hazard how would you deal with this

Hi there

I am redoing bathroom at the moment and the phote shows 2 steps leading up to the bathroom. I want to put plywood on bathroom floor before thick vinyl.
My wife thinks it would be a potential trip hazard raising the floor and is worried about someone falling down stairs either going out or in.

I could could put an oak transition strip but still not sure it's safe.

Any suggestions how to deal with this?
