Plywood removal - stapled or nailed to Masonry

Removing plywood walls from a closet. Behind plywood is wall of brick, partially mortared over. There was no vapor seal, no mold resistant sealant. Some of the brick and mortar have chipped off - not shocking. The plywood is mostly stapled in with barbed staples. Appears some nails were used based on my removal of the damp plywood toward bottom. But the dry portions don't easily just crumble off.

Here is the question: How do I pry off the plywood without taking chunks of brick and mortar...
