New boiler fitted, is this normal?

I had a new boiler fitted yesterday, of course alot smaller than the previous 18 year old one so expected some diy around it but it was not expecting this! They said our walls are just single brick and partition wall so they had no choice. It seemed like the old boiler was hung on some sort of board first from what we could see underneath but they're saying it wasn't and this is how the old one was.
Is this ok? Is it normal? Should I be complaining or getting a second opinion? Any...
